I am pleased to announce that there is a new version of Meeting Schedule Assistantavailable. This edition has the following improvements:
A brother kindly came forward and offered to implement a partial translation in Armenian. This includes supplying monthly workbook data.
French Translation – Revised
It was brought to my attention that the most recent Meeting Workbooks now use Etude Biblique de l’assemblée for the Congregation Bible Study. Our translator has revised the application:
Command Line Switches
It is now possible to add a new command line switch to the application shortcut: /lang=XXX. The value XXX is one of the full translation language codes. This feature has been implemented for our partial translation users. Up until now these users were only able to use English as the primary language. You can now make a new shortcut to the application and add the new command line switch to the target value. For example, using /lang=RUS will enable the program to use Russian as the primary language instead of English.
As a reminder, this command line switch has been provided primarily for partial translation users who would prefer a full translation of the program in a language other than English as the primary language.
A couple of minor bug fixes have also been resolved so you are encouraged to upgrade.
I am pleased to announce that there is a new version of Meeting Schedule Assistantavailable. This edition has some refinements to both editors.
Viewing Selected Slips
A new drop-down list has been added to the bottom right of the Midweek Editor. It is only enabled when you are in the slips view mode and the Current Week option is checked. The default setting is All which means that all of the assignment slips are displayed in the editor.
The following window is displayed when you choose Select:
The choices that are displayed on this window will change from week to week. You can select each item that you want included.
In addition, you can use the check boxes at the top to quickly select / deselect all items for a given class.
Use this feature when you have already issued the slips and are now making some re-adjustments and only need to print one or two.
A new column has been added to the Student Selector window. This column is only displayed when you are selecting a student or an assistant:
Custom Student Report
This custom script has been made available for you to use. Here is an example of what to expect:
The script has been provided in:
You will be required to make a minor adjustment to the translations if you want to use it in another language. This is the part of the script that needs updating (lines 19 to 24):
19 20 21 22 23 24
<thclass="cellSortHeading"id="column-1">Student</th> <thclass="cellSortHeading"id="column-2">Last As Student</th> <thclass="cellSortHeading"id="column-3">Last Bible Reading</th> <thclass="cellSortHeading"id="column-4">Last As Publisher</th> <thclass="cellSortHeading"id="column-5">Last As Talk</th> <thclass="cellSortHeading"id="column-6">Last As Assistant</th>
We can add your script with updated translations into the ZIP file.
It now has a status bar where it provides information about the selected cell:
As a result, some of the controls have been moved over to the right to make better use of the space available.
Also, the progress monitoring (send to Google) has been moved from the title bar down into the new status bar:
Clipboard functionality has been added to the context menu:
This comes in useful if you are making manual adjustments to the schedule.
It is your responsibility to ensure the validity of any pasted information.
I am pleased to announce that the next version of Public Talks is now available.
New Talk Titles
A few new talk titles have been added already and you can use the Check for New Talks feature. Updates have been made for:
Some parts of the interface have been updated to support window resizing so that you have more room to work with. This includes saving the window position / state. I have taken the opportunity to update the look and feel of the Maintain Databases window too:
Please let me know if there are any other windows that you would like to support resizing.
In addition, the splash screen has been given a new look:
A big thank you to our brother who kindly prepared this image for us. Eventually I will review all the help documentation for Public Talks and give it a much needed overhaul.
