Managing Your Talk Schedules
You must click on a date using the calendar before you can edit or add entries in the database. Use the month and year drop down lists if required. You can also click on the greyed out days and the month or year that displays in the calendar title bar.
Once you have chosen a date, the buttons change accordingly. Depending upon whether there is talk information associated with this date, the Delete Entry button will be enabled appropriately and the button on the far right will toggle between New Entry and Modify Entry. All existing talk assignment dates are shown in bold. Also, any dates associated with a journal entry (popup tooltip) are also shown in bold.
Once you have selected the date, you can take the appropriate action by pressing the appropriate button.
When you press the New Entry or Modify Entry buttons, the Home Talks Entry dialogue is displayed for you to enter new or modify existing details. Click on the link for more details.
Use this dropdown combo to choose your editing mode.
Use Home/Away when you want to add or modify both home and away talk entries. You have to be in this mode if you want to do importing or exporting.
Use Away editing mode when you only want to add or modify away talk entries. You can't do any importing or exporting whilst in this mode and performing a find will only search away entry information.
Select this option if you only want to load in just the talk assignments from today onwards. Since this will ignore all assignments prior to today, the dialogue will load up more quickly.
Most users are not concerned about assignments from the past.
Import / export will not be available whilst you are in this mode.
As you click on a date on the calendar, this area shows a summary of all the available information for that date.
Just hover the mouse over the theme or any other entry which you can't completely read and it will show the full text in a tooltip.
It says "No Summary Available" if no summary information can be found for the selected date.
If you are in Away Entry mode (see above), then only away summary information will be displayed.
Use the Preferences dialogue to change how the summary information is displayed.
