Meeting Schedule Assistant v20.1.7 is now available

I am pleased to announce that there is a new version of Meeting Schedule Assistant now available.

What’s New

  • The Midweek Editor now automatically selects the current week in the list of dates when opening an existing MWB data file. 🙂
  • One of the most frequent situations that I find users of Meeting Schedule Assistant in is that they have a disaster recovery scenario and no recent backups of their data. Sometimes I am able to help to recover the files and then them back up and running. But as the saying goes “prevention is better than cure”. 🙂 Therefore, changes have been made to assist with disaster recovery.

Automatic backups

There is now a new Automatic Backup settings feature that you can use:

It works in much the same was as the Backup facility in Public Talks. You can configure what to backup and how to back it up on a regular basis. You can still do a complete backup on demand from the File menu by selecting Backup Settings.

Backup Log

It should also be mentioned that all backups (whether created on demand or automatically) are now added to a new Backup Log database. Read on to find out more.

Please Note

The way the backup is performed has also been changed for a Complete backup. The software will now include all data files in your working data folder. But it will not include sub-folders.


Restore Settings

The Restore Settings feature has been changed. You will now be presented with a list of available backups to choose from:

It works in much the same way at the Restore Database feature in Public Talks. Simply select the backup to restore, or click Browse to a choose backup file that you don’t have listed in the log.
