Outlook / Google API Usage

Outlook / Google API Usage

Public Talks and Meeting Schedule Assistant both have a feature for synchronising meeting assignments to your Outlook or Google Calendar. Use of this facility is entirely optional.

The Outlook Utility is a console application that is called OutlookCalIFConsole.exe and is installed in a sub-folder of the main application location.

The Google Utility is a console application that is called GoogleAuthandSync.exe and is installed in a sub-folder of the main application location.

These console applications are used from within my Theocratic Software to perform the following tasks:

  • Delete calendar events
  • Add calendar events

Only calendar events created by the applications get deleted. This is achieved by means of a special tag which is allocated to each event.

No existing calendar event data is read or retained anywhere.

GMail Interface

We have Monthly Workbook Data volunteers who supply the data to me each month.

This data can be automatically sent to me on behalf of the volunteer by email. This interface is used if the volunteer has an GMail email address.

This interface is a DLL file that uses the GMail API. It requires the user to authorise that the tool has permission to send an email on their behalf.

For your reassurance, Meetings Schedule Assistant has no ability whatsoever to examine any other email messages in your account. The utility can only be used with your express permission.
